YEMISI BODE-THORPE – LLB, LLM (Cardiff)

Yemisi Bode-Thorpe graduated from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye in 1999 with an LLB Honours degree, was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 and thereafter obtained a Degree of Master (LLM) in Commercial Law from Cardiff University, Wales, U.K. in 2005.


Her law practice started at O.M. Finnih & Co. as an Associate and she later joined Adepetun Caxton-Martins Agbor & Segun, where she was exposed to various areas of Corporate & Commercial law practice including finance, commercial contracts/agreements (drafting & review); due diligence exercise & reporting; Intellectual Property law; commercial negotiations and legal advisory on a wide range of corporate governance & regulatory compliance issues relating to Government agencies


Yemisi is a seasoned Administrator and until recently, was the General Manager (Legal & Admin/HR) of Coleman Technical Industries Limited, manufacturers of the popular brand Coleman Wires & Cables; a position she held for nearly a decade, overseeing the Legal, Contractual and General Administration of the Company.


She is a student member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria Branch, currently undertaking trainings in order to attain full membership of the Institute.


She is a lover of creative and performing Arts.


IDOWU OKUNOWO-BADERO – LLB (LAGOS)

Idowu attended the University of Lagos, where she obtained LLB Hons. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. She started her law career at the firm of Babalakin & Co. where she was exposed to the various areas of Real Estate and Infrastructural law, Corporate/Commercial law, Company Secretarial and general litigation.


She was a part of the team that advised Victoria Garden City on the development of its estate in Ikota, Ajah, Lagos State.


Idowu also provided legal advisory services to Bi-Courtney Limited in respect of the construction of the US$250 million international airport terminal in Lagos under a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) transaction. Furthermore, she is familiar with the negotiation skills required to solve disputes legal advice and highly skilled with preparing the legal documentation, including the management agreement, construction contracts, finance documentation, consultancy and engineering agreements.


Idowu routinely renders legal advisory services to leading construction companies in Nigeria including issues related to the interpretation of the Land Use Act and the Urban and Regional Planning and Development law (and the ensuing case law from these laws). She also regularly supervises the perfection of title documents of her team in all the land registries in Nigeria. As the Partner in charge of the firm’s company secretariat team, she ensures that the firm’s corporate clients comply with all regulatory laws in respect of their businesses. She advises the international clients who are desirous of doing business in Nigeria on the laws governing their businesses.


She enjoys listening to good music and loves travelling.

 

TOSIN MEDUNOYE – LLB (ILORIN)

Tosin Medunoye is a graduate of University of Ilorin with Bachelor of Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008.


She began her Law practice at the Chambers of Asaolu & Co. While serving in the National Youth Service Corps, she headed the litigation group in her community development programme and also worked tirelessly with Legal Aid Council in decongesting the prisons and helping indigent litigants.


Tosin has good experience in various areas of the Law including finance, construction, real estate as well as litigation amongst others. She also advises on issues bordering on legal permits, licenses and regulatory compliance.


She is very passionate and hardworking. Currently a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, she aspires to the Bench.
